CASE STUDY

Custom shaft and cap machining saves nearly $1 million

Our customer received an order to produce an eight-station indexing table for a CNC machine — with an estimated cost of $40,000 to $70,000 per unit. The potential need for 24 tables meant the total order cost could hit $1.7 million.

To reduce costs, the customer designed their own table and requested our assistance with specific components. We custom-engineered all the necessary shafts and caps, while supplying standard bearings, and gears, at a cost of just $5,000 per table.

This approach yielded cost savings as high as $65,000 per table, creating savings of over $875,000 for all 24 tables.
